      Qualifying day at Monza

A travel blog entry by bkmuir on Sep 06, 2014

After deciding that she has seen enough of Milan, Kerrie decided to join me for qualifying day for the Italian Formula One Grand Prix at Monza. Left motel around 8.30am and arrived at the track, approximately 20 klms away, nearly two hours later. What seems like a fairly straightforward journey is complicated by traffic and a 40 minute walk from …

... fries(fancy style) and Ash had spaghetti bolognaise. The dishes were expensive, mine costing about $30 and Ash's costing $25 but what shocked us even more was the €6 each bottle of coke we had with it. That's $18 for two bottle of coke! And no the bottles weren't gold! And no there was no alcohol in the drink either. Massive rip off! Luckily the food was good otherwise I'd have been really spewing! Our last night in Europe. We are looking forward to the comforts of home ...

We skied all the way to the cable car without stopping and Ash then saw the cable car that we would be riding up the mountain. She had a bit of a panic attack but she still got in and held on tight. A dude was standing at the window and moved so Ash could get a better position to see out the window. Ash refused politely with a look on her face that said ...

      The Dolomites

... recommendation of the hotel concierge, to catch a short bus to another slope as it would be quieter and good to ski. When we got there and caught the lift up it was great. A different view of the mountain and you could see a bit more. We had to ski down a slightly bigger gradient to get to a different chairlift and it did challenge Ash but she nailed it! This took us above 2000m above sea level and we could see right across the other side of ...

      Venice to the Dolomites

A travel blog entry by jtate on Jan 18, 2015

... took a good 30minutes to arrive! Eventually we got our ski passes and jumped in a taxi to our hotel. We were wondering just how much it was going to cost! I was hoping less that €50! Luckily it only came to €25 so I was pretty happy about that and the taxi driver was great, telling us all about the area. The hotel was lovely, a huge spacious room and a fantastic view of the mountains. What more could you ...
