As seems to be the case for me in Myanmar I was unexpectedly impressed, this time with Thanboddhay Paya – a temple I visited just outside of Monywa.
It was completely different to any temple I've ever seen. And though perhaps not what you might at first describe as beautiful, it certainly could be described and interesting and fun. On my bus ride to Monywa I had Mr. Bean peeking out at me for the entire journey. Most of the newer buses here seem to be old Japanese busses. They’re actually more comfortable than the new Japanese buses in my opinion. The driving style however is not.
