I have just come back from barcelona..my favourite city ever! I was there as part of my erasmus placement and im so pleased I chose Barcelona to spend it. I worked for 5 months in an internship but finished at 4pm everyday and had so much time to enjoy the city.

I came in the summer..summer in barcelona is amazing, its so hot, there are festivals and fiestas all the time..and of course the BEACH! I loved ...

CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS, LAS RAMBLAS, AND THIEVES

... Len says 'oh, ****'. He was just bombed really good by a pigeon! What a mess, luckily we had lots of Kleenex, napkins and wet wipes with us.

We go in the archives building to look at a fountain that is decorated with flowers. Looks beautiful, we see a couple of other fountains also decorated.

We go by a school yard and several of the kids playing with tops on ropes, guess they are grooming for street ...

... dose hoping it would prevent the pain episode I was expecting. We had an enjoyable day in the beautiful town of Sitges which I cover in a separate entry. When Lee and I returned to Barcelona I checked online again with Vueling and received the same message as before. The hostel also had not received word of my backpack and I´m growing increasingly anxious since where could it be? 6/21 Our hotel room was warm all night even with a ceiling fan. We need to keep the windows ...

... me as my auntie Sue had been at that games with the Aussie team. After that we headed down into the centre of Barcelona for a leather, lladro (prounounced yadro) and pearl demonstration - it was unbelievable!! (Only a joke my fellow Contiki peeps will understand I'm sure) Yes, Barcelona does have museums and all that, but the weather was absolutely beautiful. Meg and myself decided to blow off the museums (and because ...

... can actually enhance the experiences of the present. Likewise, while constantly living in the past certainly pays diminishing returns, a certain amount of it brings immense enjoyment. For what is a life if not a collection of the memories of those times that we were fully present? If we do not once and again revisit them, whose to say they ever really happened? (If a tree falls in the woods...) Balance is the thing. The thing I would rail against, instead of Thoreau´s cry for only living ...

To Spain

... to return the car. We took the N14 off the autoroute to see if we could find the ocean at Argeles sur Mer but instead we continued on to Collioure which we had heard of or been told to go to. We drove down a winding road, turned right at an island and wound down to the harbour. It reminded us of a Cornish village and like same there was nowhere to park. The place was packed with people in spite of it being a Tuesday and the streets were laden with their cars. I followed a ...

... let loose. The cross apparently represents St George's sword plunged into the scaley spine of the dragon which you can see in the middle picture above (the dragon's back houses a little bubbling water room for no apparent reason but is pleasant all the same). There is quite a bit of space on the rooftop and again he uses the ...

... to offer. the streets there were always packed with street performers of all kinds or tapas bars that were quite nice to stop in for a beer or two. the two things that i enjoyed the most about the city were the picasso museum and la sagrada familia, which is a religious structure created by gaudi that isn´t even halfway finished and it is already a marvel to see. other things that were of interest were the olympic stadium, various parks ...
