The tour was self-guided and the rooms were filled with many original period pieces from the 1850’s and 1860’s, along with many personal hand-written letters and documents.         ... of the place and ended, yes you guessed it, with a joining of hands for a few verses of 'We shall overcome'. Now I must admit, the whole spiritualness of the morning really did leave a mark. If I had known this could have happened, I wouldn't have gone, I was so glad I did though! We later walked down to the Alabama River, past the famous place where Rosa Parkes caught the bus. The area was nicely done and had plenty of signs to tell ...

        ... it would only take two hours, we had thought it would be nearer to three. Our hotel wouldn't let us book in until 3pm so I took a leisurely drive, getting our arrival time down to 2.30. perhaps they would let us in early. As we approached what we thought was Montgomery (the lady had told us we only had 5 minutes until our destination), she told us to make a few directional changes and informed us there was another 50 plus miles to travel. ...
