... basking underneath the wharf and there they could be found, packed together like sardines. Similarly, the big fancy boats looked to be tightly squeezed inside the marina. We cycled through Monterey town into plush Pacific Grove and had our falafel wraps by the golf course looking out on the rocks and waves. Despite the rocks, a lone surfer somehow navigated his way from wave to beach. If it wasn't for the wraps, we would have stood up and applauded him in, or maybe not... As we ...

We saw a black footed albatross which we were told was rare bird to see. We enjoyed strolling around Cannery Row again the vibe was great and not over crowded at all. An added bonus & highlight was in the evening we meet up with the lovely family we first met on the boat to Alcatraz we had a fab time ...

Today we focused our attention on Monterey itself, in particular its major tourist drawcard, Cannery Row. To start the day, we headed to the Monterey Aquarium situated at the end of the Row. Safe to say Nic and Josh got so much more from this attraction than I did - e.g do you know how many species of jellyfish there are in the bay? Alot. After the aquarium, we ...

... build these tubs around what otherwise would just be a hot trickle splashing down the rocks. Nice work, whoever had that much gumption. Just as we sank into one of the perfectly warm tubs, watching the creek flow past below and birds swoop among the trees, we heard a rumble. Minutes later, the skies opened up into the first rainstorm of the entire trip. Honestly, five weeks and this was the first rain we had seen (thankfully). Huge cool drops fell ...
