Great hotel and very kid friendly

      from

We spent 5 nights at this property and loved every minute. Room key provided access to other swimming pools property owns. Restaurant very clean and a great menu. Pastry and coffee near elevator made for midnight sneaks from room. Will always book here. My grandkids still talk about it. Gloria Wilson

      Luxury found in Wendover.

      from

The rooms were luxuriously decorated with vibrant colors. Rooms were clean and well presented upon arrival. Rooms are large and roomy, even the two-bed rooms.Housekeeping were very polite and efficient on requests. Nice private outdoor pool area. They were a great host for our two day event, large conference rooms. Seafood buffet was excellent and a very nice cozy cafe inside the casino as well. Thank you for a lovely stay.

      Gorgeous hotel.

      Is This OZ??

Montego Bay?? I thought that was in Jamaica..

But, Montego Bay in West Wendover Nevada, (Never heard of the town before), is something else. My wife and I travel all through the U. S. A. and Canada for golf and gambling and we have never stayed anywhere that would come close to "Value for Money" as we did at Montego Bay in West Wendover. We stayed there on September 2nd.2004 and were more than a little impressed. We have stayed at top line hotels from Vegas to Biloxi, to Reno and Atlantic City and never had as good an experience as at Montego Bay. For $29.95 a night, including a two for 1 Buffet, (worth ever penny of $13.oo) and a Luxurious room on the top floor with a great view and sumptious furnishings we too thought we had the wrong room and even asked at the front desk, only to be told that it was the right room. We would never consider driving through West Wendover again without stopping at Montego Bay.. Great Hotel Casino, Great Food, and a reasonably smart gambler can do well... Dennis Collet

I was very pleasently surprised and pleased with my hotel room. The rooms were big and beautiful and I thought I was in the wrong room!!!

It was the very best casino that I have visited, and I have visited casino's all over Canada and the United States, the hotel was great the people were friendly and helpful and listened to what I wanted.

I will be back, and I want to thank the staff and the owner's for the best trip I have had in a long time!!

      Very good 1st experience

      from

I own a saloon which takes an annual "gambling junket" (bus trip) every year. This was our 22nd anniversary trip, and while we had previously always gone to Jackpot, NV, we chose to look elsewhere this year because of some bad experiences at Jackpot (higher prices being the major one). I took 48 people to Montego Bay in West Wendover, and from the moment we pulled up, I was very positively impressed with our experience. When some rooms needed to be changed around because of the needs of one of our handicapped passengers, it was immediately done and she was given a room right across from the elevator. All in all, the changes took about 10 minutes. Their promotions for our group were very good, as were the room rates. A few said that their rooms were cold and that their thermostats didn't work, but I don't think they called these problems in to the front desk. All of our passengers commented about how beautiful their rooms were, as was my room as well. I would have no problem in recommending Montego Bay to anyone.

Getting the show on the Road

A travel blog entry by swankyjayyy on Sep 09, 2014

      • Stopped to get gas at a Shell in West Wendover. The gas cost me $33.30.
      • I also grabbed McDonalds. I ordered a Big-Mac, large frie, and a large sprite. The meal cost me $12.50.
      • We got here in 2 hours and 45 minutes.
      • Stayed the night here at a local rest stop along the road.

Monday - The plan was to head to Elko, Nevada today. We really just wanted to be able to check this state off, but we also wanted to make the most of it by exploring a museum or two. When we realized that the trip there was going to be closer to four hours instead of just a little over two, we decided to stop in West Wendover, which is just over the border of Nevada. There we topped off the gas ...

... a few thousand army personal by the looks of the old barracks. Cross the border from Utah to Nevada (still in wendover town) and there are huge casinos. Mac Donald's / sub way/ other fast foods and fancy smooth roads. Nevada must have awesome gambling laws. It looked really funny, this town in the middle of no where, looks deserted and broken, cross a line and there are flash 5 storey plus buildings and casinos ...

... my fretting was without substance as when we arrived at the pay station the next morning, a 'lovely man’ said he wouldn’t take a lovely ‘rig’ like ours out there if he was us and why didn’t we park up and he would get us a ride. How about that – exactly what we did! Boy, it was HOT, but really worth the effort. There is an area known as ‘the pits’ where the cars, ...

... around and fly past the 2 cars fully flooring it again. the minivans however are not cut of the same material as they hesitantly stay behind. Not too surprising though since both had families with kids in them ;-)
In Wendover we quickly find a car wash to get rid of all the salt on the car, as it looked like a 4-wheeled pretzel. Leaving the salt on would be pretty nasty for the bodywork and all other outside parts so better to get rid of it there.
