If you have the chance, you must visit Valencia during the Las Fallas season. Every March, prior to the feast of Saint Joseph, the city prepares itself for a celebration of their patron saint. Las Fallas translates in Valenciano to "the fires", and indeed the festival will end with just that, the burning of the ninots (puppets or dolls) made of paper maché, plaster and wood. ... orange groves along the way, with a castle peering down from a hill top here and there. Oh, and tolls! About 50 Euros total.

We hadn't planned a hotel here, but found an information center after weaving through some extremely narrow streets, and picked a nice one. We needed to unwind and relax in the luxury of air conditioning. A big meal, a short walk in a beautiful park, and that's about it for Valencia for us.
