... back to the Sagrada Familia. Walking into this cathedral was a wonderful surprise. It's not like anything you've ever seen before. The facade upon entering, called the Nativity facade was the only facade actually finished in Gaudi's lifetime. (He died getting hit by a streetcar on the Passeig de Gràcia and is buried inside.) the interior is magnificent with columns that resemble trees and are 150 feet tall. Oh my, up and up and up we went again steeper and steeper but it was so well with it when we got to the top where we had lunch, the views were breathtaking. ... spite if long queues waiting for a table! Fabulous restaurant with huge ovens cooking chickens all day long! Found a shorter way back to our hotel thank goodness, stopping for icecreams on the way. Back at 3.30 with very tired legs. Had a shop, a wine on the terrace then out for dinner 8.30. Still early by Spanish standards! I had a salad after our big lunch and Michael had a huge plate of chops and chips! Finished the night with a coffee on our terrace ...
