    Madrid is the capital of Spain and the largest city. Our apartment was about 100 m from the Plaza Mayor, so was a fantastic location to have a good look around. We started the 1st day by doing the city walk - a route suggested by Lonely Planet to take in all the major sites. About 6 km in total. Starting in the plaza we admired the old buildings.     ... Wow... The streets teeming with people from a everywhere. Rolling words, different lilts.. Languages humming, people strolling along the plazas Then Tapas and vino tinto..warm and tastes like...hummmmm. Tapas were good. The cobbled streets begged us to walk and explore.     ... We followed another guy by walking across two train tracks to get to our platform. When in Rome ... ... It's now 12.46 am. We arrived safely a tour hotel called Stella Della Marina Monterosso. It's a 300 year old building and is very charming - really lovely. We checked in and headed down to the square to get Pudd something to eat. He had a cream pastry and a cup of tea, and then we both had two scoops each of ice cream.
