I had difficulty ordering the coffee - another customer assisted with the translation - I received a double espresso but no milk - bummer. As I was returning to the hotel I walked past desigual - the shop I have fallen in live with. OMG there was 20% off if I signed up. ... 20 minutes away. Went along the river and there were lots of people out walking their dogs, all shapes and sizes (the dogs I mean, some interesting mixes - a sausage dog with a schnauzer head!) The Aljaferia Palace was very impressive. Been a structure here for a thousand years, initially More, with the Christians and Muslams reclaiming it and refurbishing it every few hundred years. Impressive, but the audio bore reference to ...

... activity and making of new friends and then intense loneliness. Moments of total freedom and vagabond traveling and then hours in the library struggling through a problem set on my own. Maintaining contact with people back in Rice is difficult not because of the time difference and lack of communication methods but because of the lack of things to tell. Most times when people ask me "How is Madrid?" I am stumped as to how to answer. There are so ...
