... boarding the bus (poor maths skills on my count). The bus was surprisingly nice, air conditioned and leather reclining seats made the 8 hour journey pretty painless - unfortunately my muscle relaxant I took kicked in too late so by the time we grabbed dinner and a couple of drinks at Witch's Rock I was ready for bed. The next day we headed to the beach in the blistering heat, promptly got burnt and then enjoyed the Happy Hour cocktails ...

... After a lot of struggling and crying, we finally make it to some parking lot and find out that we need to pay 10 dollars and then walk 450 steps down the canyon to see the waterfall. We didn't care anymore, could have sold our souls for a dip in a cold water. And it was so worth it. The view, refreshing blue water, tropical forests...wish I never left!

Tamarindo was a place Stef chose for us to simply sit and do nothing much at all. The only things of interest here, but not for us,were the adventure type things like ATV tours, Zip Lining and walks along the beach, the latter we did only the once since the beach was a bit of a dud. We were very content though, sitting, drinking, chatting to others at the hotel and having the occasional swim in the hotel's brilliant pool. Costa Rica really ...

... beetroot most of the time. Today it contrasted quite delightfully with my green t-shirt - I can see a new fashion trend developing. Fortunately, when we finally arrived at the entrance to the waterfall after a 5km uphill stroll, I looked as bad as everyone leaving as they'd just walked up 600m in 400 odd steps. I'm beginning to think I am best suited to city breaks!
