... This city and island deserve more time for exploration. There are some lovely parks in Las Palmas, and a drive around the island would show the diversity of landscapes, from sand dunes to lush forest.
I had to get up at 4:00 a.m. to make it to my flight to Greece. Early morning taxi rates – buses don’t run that early – cost me a staggering 40 euros (CA$61) to get to the airport.

... it's like. Luckily I'm paranoid about missing flights and such because every aspect of the airport was on 'manana' time. We stood in every line possible and had a series of mishaps beyond our control that took us three hours in total. We had a third passenger in our row this time but he didn't say a peep for the whole 4 1/2 hour flight back home. Overall it was a very relaxing, comfortable fun beach getaway. I understand why it's so popular with the Brits!
... basic necessities like water. We arrived safely and eagerly stepped out of the cabin. Instantly I felt that dewy warmth on my dehydrated airplane skin. If I could bottle that feeling I would!
