After an overnight stay in Erie PA we drove further towards Ontario, Canada. As we drove past Lake Erie towards Niagara Falls we saw all this 'white' in the water. We first thought it was foam but as we got closer we realised it was ice!! At Niagara Falls we saw large iced up parts along the side. Locals told us that the whole falls froze over this winter. That's incredible! Magnificent to see those falls. ...

This will be a short entry as I want to go to bed and take advantage of the clocks being wound an hour backwards and be up to date with my writing for Saturday! It was overcast when we left Ottawa on Friday morning. I was the driver for the day. We stopped in a place called Carp and visited the Cold War Museum-the Diefenbunker. The woman next to me is reading a newspaper as well and I catch myself more than once surreptitiously peeking in, trying to get a glimpse of today's happenings. 'Where Canadians travel for their health-...' Dammit. She flipped the page already.

At the next stop two cheerful women enter the train and sit by the doors. Giggles and laughter are now filling ...

So the plan for today was too ride for at least 700km. Ended up doing 720km, stopping at 7:45pm. Staying at the Days Motel in Flatwoods, West Virginia. Exit 67 on I-79. Some details: of the 700+ km today, at least 500 were in some kind of rain, some gentle and at other times, massive downpour. If I had limited ride time in rain, today I hit my yearly quota. Good news, the rain gear works great, not a drop got thru. ...
