Going Down Fighting!!!

... all of that!!

And yes… in conclusion I have decided that quality of life is the absolute key… So everything in moderation including wine, chocolate and every other indulgence I fancy!!

So after indulging… There is also the daily battle to live from one drug imposed state to the next!! One has to get a grip and take control and try to determine some of the outcomes… and not let this disease ravaged body take me down ...

Motley Crew in Markham

... I took the three dogs for a walk around the neighbourhood mid-afternoon while Jen had a rest. They weren't sure whether Chester was going to make it all the way as this was going to be his longest walk in some time. But he did. About 6:30 we all sat down for a mess of chili and salad. We figured it was time to head home around 9:00 pm and headed back to Thornhill, exhausted, full, and happy. Tomorrow we head for Ottawa and the Somervilles.

... to the Cameron House, where, to our dismay, a TERRIBLE folk singing duo was playing. She's now my friend on Facebook, let's see if she read this, Hi Sue! You guys have some talent, but you could use it in a way more productive way. You should tone down the schmaltz and turn up the sincerity! Got it? OK? Good. *smile* Really I mean it. OK, so, next I had a craving for sushi, so Alan offered to drive us up to Bloor St., where he was going to watch ...

The Prep to Prep for Prep

... said for how the human spirit clings to adventure. As civilized as we claim to be, with blackberry phones, bottled water, and all the luxuries that human evolution and technology have created, it's that instinctual need to connect with different people to reaffirm our human nature that seems to drive every traveler. And I don't mean you have to jump ...

... Top Male Model'. Whichever decade of my life we have shared time in, I want to thank you - Just for being the person you were made to be. The interactions we shared, the relationship we built, all undoubtedly played a part in the development and maturation of who I am today. For the next 13 weeks I will be preparing for a short-term missions trip to Bamako, Mali. The tentative departure and ...

What to pack (or what not to pack)

... and for that reason I am also bringing with me a bright lime green lace bra so that I can feel smugly and secretively subversive on a hot and sticky day. From there on in, designer jeans and nike shoes are pretty much the rule (of fashion, that is). Even the headscarf is not as rigid as many think; colourful designer headscarves are worn back from the forehead, allowing bangs or fringe to show suggestively. I must say I have somewhat romanticized the idea of wearing a ...

Finally Home

The zoom air flight passed by relatively uneventfully. It was delayed a bit in London, and then again in during the stop over in Montreal. As we flew and waited, we were overwhelmed with a mixture of feelings. Certainly happiness to finally be back home with our family. Also sadness that this great adventure is coming to and end. At the airport in Toronto we were kind of ...

Planning, planning, planning

Well, planning is proceeding apace. We have lists of stuff to bring (mostly camping list derivatives), meal plans (first week anyway) .. and a pretty good set of plans (at least in terms of where to stay each night) .... The only stipulation: At least one night must be spent in a Walmart parking lot (or its not a REAL RV tour!!)

Several well-known leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have made Toronto their home for a season. Both Elder M. Russell Ballard and President Thomas S. Monson served as mission presidents in Toronto. John Taylor—who became the Church's third president—was introduced to the Church by Parley P. Pratt, a young elder serving in the Toronto area. The 300th stake of the Church was also the ...
