... through Mafalala was uneventful. Despite the poverty and dilapidation - the streets were unpaved and many buildings were made of rusted corrugated metal - the place seemed like any other town. People were coming and going, working on cars (it looked like they were detailing a van, one that might have just been painted), getting their hair or nails done, albeit in the street, and having a beer with friends on this late ...

... resort. Actually. It's not a resort. It's a bar. Called "Hooker's Bar". Concrete floor. Plastic garden furniture. Open sides.

Oh yes. Did I mention open sides? Did I mention the cold? Did I mention the wind? Did I mention the rain?

This is it. For the next 3hrs. They're all sitting down shivering warpped in whatever clothing they can muster. It's like a Darby & Joan Club. Ask if anyone wants to play bingo. Which raises a chuckle. ...

Il y a donc, une belle infrastructure laissée par le Portugais qui tombe un peu plus en ruine chaque jour. Hello again fellow readers, bloggers, friends, stalkers, late night insomniacs and bored with nothing to do people. Time is coming to a close here in Mozambique. This Sunday it will be goodbye and a short return back to South Africa. The last few days have been having fun with interns and again having to say goodbye to those who have finished their internships. Monday night was a delicious feast at Pirata, a pirate themed pizza place. Definitely no sign of pirate ...

... promised to skype her when we get back to Joburg at the end of the month and have a soppy recollection of highlights, whilst filling her in on the last 2 weeks! After an almighty climb up the stairs in Maputo (unfortunately they hadn't fit a lift while we were away), complete with decaying rats, we were home to a lovely welcome by all the interns. Back to cold showers it is!

An absolutely lovely week with all 4 of us together, now back to the hard work!
