... the final hour. We had enquired about a hotel and been quoted like 450,000IDR (23) for a triple room per night, which is pretty expensive for Indonesia, so we decided to just wing it. By the time we arrived it was almost 10:30pm, and we really didn't want to wander around a dark sleepy village trying to find somewhere to stay, so we ended up staying at the hotel where the bus dropped everyone. Also, it was about 8 degrees... which was basically arctic temperatures for us. ...

Well it wasn't the best night's sleep that's for sure, but it could have been worse!

From the station in Malang we battled our way through the taxi drivers and walked to a local tour company called Sunrise Holidays who had good reviews on Lonely Plant and TripAdvisor...

We've booked ourselves on a full-on three day tour around Mt Bromo, Mt Ijen and the turtles at Sukamade. It's a fairly expensive at around $350 per person, but we reckon it will be way easier than trying ...
