Need the perfect Campsite close to LA: here it is: you are a little bit up the hill, overlook the ocean and the coast and you feel like the rich and famous. It’s a great spot to explore the North-West of LA… so we decided to extend our 2-day stay to a 4-day stay, so we can do one beach day between all ...

After rising at about 5:30am local time, we showered, dressed, packed up and checked out. Our cab brought us to a hectic LAX. As we passed the domestic airline terminals (Southwest, United, American, etc) we could see lines snaking outside of the terminals and waaaaaaay down the street. Good God! This armageddon of a winter is every traveler's worst nightmare and it's just not ending.

... or our poorer NZ cousins (haha, I'm joking, honest, I love you guys...wait, is there even anyone from NZ reading this? Never mind!) Hilarity, hijinks, and lots of cheap alcohol ensue, and by the end of the night I can't remember much, but I'm pretty sure that everyone had a great night! I think! The next day I decided to take it a little easier. After getting up rather late I headed off to a nearby DFO called "The Castle" (sadly not in the shape of an actual castle!) for ...

... at the corner of 1st and Pine to catch a connecting tram northbound. The tram connected with train, and finished with a walk to the hotel, costing just $6 each.
At first glimpse, Hollywood wasn't really what I had expected. The walk from the metro to the hotel was kind of grubby. Poverty, run down businesses, markets selling out of date or poor quality garbage, spaced out dry dusty streets with no highrise.
On arrival at the hotel ...
