As a museum it has the machinery and relics of the site as it was when it operated from 1952 until 1978. Thank goodness whaling became uneconomic and finally ceased in Australia then. Nearby we drove down Blowhole Road to look out over remote Eclipse Island, where my Uncle Col was a lighthouse keeper between 1960 and 1965. My cousins grew up there and on ...

... else in the world. When first discovered they were thought to be large rats, hence the name of the island ( Rats Nest ). Moving on from that little nature and history lesson we carried on down the coast road beside Salmon Bay and then a loop down to Parker Point taking in Little Salmon Bay. Happy Easter everyone.
I'm in Perth, just an hour away from most of you... or not, wrong Perth. I am still on the other side of the world but I am now on the other side of the country on the other side of the world.

I arrived in Perth on Thursday. Nice uneventful flight over, only about 5 hours long and I'm still in the same country. Australia is stupidly big. I'm staying with a friend at the moment and it's pretty good, she has a ...
