Today we went to see the mountains and the Botanical Gardens in the Pamplemousse area, central area, of the island. The mountains are very majestic it's many crags and peaks. The botanical gardens have thousands of palm trees and some other unnamed huge trees with massive roots. The Lilly ponds were crammed with tall lilies and …

We enjoyed the drive north to Mont Choisy and found the hotel quite easily.

Checked in, unpacked and settled down by the sea in the sunshine.

Enjoyed dinner at the sister hotel in Trou Aux Biches using the hotel courtesy minibus.

Snakes alive! We love this place.

The story so far :- We moved from the tired and turgid 'Les Aigrettes' in Mahebourg and took an apartment in the very splendid and luxurious 'Mon Choisy Beach Resort and Spa' near Trou aux Biches (which translates as the little deer's hole). To ...

Monday Our flight left Gatwick 1 hour behind schedule, apparently a problem with the catering options for the Premier Class passengers. It was our first time on a Dreamliner aircraft, we booked extra space in the premier Class and were not disappointed. Configuration was 2-3-2, we had an aisle and middle seat but certainly didn't feel cramped at all. It was a long flight 11hrs 30 mins but time soon passed. Cabin crew very ...
