... black valley are not comfortable companions. Stare at a fixed point on the horizon, goes the advice. I look out the window and see nothing but the reflection of the inside of the bus. I look up ahead and see a rock face, then a restraining rail running in front of darkness, then a rock face again. It takes all my mental energy not to throw up on the only bus back.

I go to the airport in about 24 hour's time, give or take a baggage handlers' strike. I'm still feeling slightly sick.

Monday was Cannes (think film festival) and Antibes (think you've probably never heard of it), which are just 2 more picturesque coastal cities with no shortage of million dollar yachts and beautiful beaches.

Tuesday and Wednesday were our last days of classes, our last group dinners and our last days to enjoy Nice. I must say our hotel here has been pretty aweome (and expensive...280 euro ...

... need a replacement sooner rather than later, so the plan is to order a new lens and have it shipped to Jeremy so that he can bring it with him when he comes on May 10th. Good plan-- hope it works out!
After the shopping fiasco, Chris bought some train tickets to Marseilles and we went on our way! The train was direct so it was pretty easy. I'll post about it in the next few days. Au ...

... in coolers outside of the restaurant; tempting the hungry traveler to step in for a bite to eat. The coffee has very refreshing and gave us the energy to see the city. From the square we headed to Vieux Nice--an overlook with great views of the city and coast. ... del submundo tenemos que ser? ¡Qué vergüenza!

Bueno, resultado: TENEMOS LAS ENTRADAS ALHAMDULILLAH!!

Más tarde nos tomamos el subte e hicimos combinación con el funicular que va a Montjüic, un lugar arriba de una elevación desde donde hay vistas panorámicas hermosas de Barcelona, y que para llegar bien arriba te podés tomar un teleférico de ida y vuelta por 9 euros, o un colectivo por un euro, ¡qué dilema! ¿vomitar por 9 E o llegar tranquila por 1? Ajjaja… ...
