2 hours in Monaco

ok, it was more "collecting a new country" than being really interested in Monaco. Strange, when you go there from Nice airport by bus it costs you 18 € one way, when you go from Nice bus terminal it costs 1 € one way. Monaco is a very clean city. I have never seen so many big and expensive cars. I saw the casino and the castle. Nice, but not spectacular.

Nice

... have an amazing view from Colline du Chateau. On saturday (November 28) we had sunshine and 19 degrees (end of November) and I was even swimming in the sea (15 gegrees), on sunday, November 29 we had rain and thunderstorms so that caused a delay of the plane of three hours. Best breakfast in town you find in "Les pains a tables" close to the market. Nice is a city IŽd love to visit once a year minimum.....

Less than 4 weeks to go.....

It is Sunday and very wet and miserable here in Antibes. Quite a change from the glorious day we had yesterday. Ideal for computer work in fact... (Except that then things didn't pan out as planned and it is now Monday)

It wasn't my intention to have an entry before my departure but the response to my initial circular has been so overwhelming that I feel it merited an ...

Boring drive day so here is life in Scooby

... for 2 showers each and dish washing water. In France filling up the water tank was pretty easy and cheap (2-3 Euro) via staying in an Aire d'service. In Italy, it was not immediately obvious where we could fill up the water - a lot less signs than in France... but we have found fill up points on the highways and managed a lot more free/wild camping in Italy then we did in France... in fact we have not stayed in a designated campsite at all in Italy. Need to talk to a ...

... and Cannes. Dani was pumped for Cannes as this is where they hold THE Cannes film festival. Unfortunately, just as our luck would have it, the train we took was delayed by almost 2 hours, and we still don't know why. So it took us much longer to get to our first stop on our journey which was Antibes. We had been recommended to have some lunch there and apparently they have an awesome market. However thanks to the aforementioned delay, and our silly Dubcheck moves which will be revealed ...

Nice-ness

... not compatable with the 3 phone.so he directed us to the 3 store..by this time my patience was wearing thin as time was passing, we had no accomodation and no lead to internet! So we go to the 3 store..where there is a ticket queue and we leave just as quickly. It's off to the hopefully internet cafe with the bad directions we go.
Amazingly we find the internet cafe and it's pretty cheap. We use the net and book our accomodation on the Promanade des Anglais at the Mecure ...

Feeling seriously Nice

... over as well. She didn't speak much english, but we had some good chats with a little translation. I got thoroughly sunburnt.

In the evening Wallpost was going to a friend's going away party, so I headed over to visit Cider. She'd arranged a picnic on a beach along the rivera. There was lots of wierd food I'd never tried, and some German beers that were familiar (a hefeweitzen, i know my German beers now :P). We chilled and explored the town ...

... of his life, Grace. Very touching it was and, even though Prince Rainier himself passed away in 2005, his daily habit of placing a single red rose on the tombstone of Princess Grace (deceased since way back in 1982) is continued by his family (Prince Albert of course rules). For a long while, the Grimaldi's were allowed to rule their independent nation as long as they could produce a male off-spring....time appeared to be running out for the ...

Nice is...Nice

... the beach oh sorry ocean the old town of Nice is quaint we had a lot of fun in the markets that were full of local produce. We have certainly been enjoying more summer fruit and not only that but the fruit and veggies taste sensational probably because there is no drought here! After wandering along the promenade, dipping our feet in the water and stocking up on some food for the drive we departed Nice for Arles.

South of France..

... was successfully spent lazing at the beach having lots of colas and ice creams.. Well... South of France did not end with just Cannes... We went back to the hostel and met loads of interesting travellers... Marina from Australia had been traveling for more than a year.. she had worked in a small town in france which had only 60 people for more than 3 months.. she was planning to head to italy for about 3 months.. how cool!!! I canimagine ...
