The German train system is on strike until Monday. That is all BUT the ICE (intercity express) trains. So we did catch our 6:45 AM train from Brussels to Frankfurt. It was a little eerie to see all the trains parked. There were a few running but in most of the stations, like Koln and Bonn, we were the only train.

Visited two Catholic churches that had been reconstructed as they once were. The architecture shows the influence of Dutch.
Our time is up and we must return to the airport.

I am typing this from the plane as we are going on hour 7 of a nearly 9 hour flight. Sammy has been falling asleep on and off and I feel as though I'm the only person still awake on the plane so I thought I would take a few minutes to add a final post.
