          Today was the first day that we didn't know where we were going to stay in the evening so we just headed out and kept an eye for anywhere that might take our fancy.

          Today we rode off into the rolling hills of Missouri and encountered our first road grade greater than 10%. We expect to see a lot more of this in the coming days. Once again the weather gods smiled on us, the wind was minimal, there was no rain and a bit of cloud cover did not spoil our day. We enjoyed the rural ride through small, well kept farms and had a dinner repast at a local truck stop adjoining our hotel....ah the luxuries of the itinerant ...

          Idea today was to leave Missouri , that was never going to happen! Travelled through beautiful scenery and met Gary ( a 70 yr old ) at an old historic petrol station on route. Spent hours with him talking about the old days on 66, his hospitality and knowledge was brilliant. Staying tonight at Boots Motel, a historic 1940's motel. staying in the actual room where Clark Gable stayed and are currently sitting outside in the evening ...
