... Town Light shinning out on the ocean. It was a very comforting sight, we spent three days moored off that light with Sassy in 2006. As I watched the light for miles, I pictured that beautiful harbor and all the comfortably sleeping cruisers moored on the mooring balls. I think I was getting really, really tired! I watched as the sky turned pink to the east and slowly the entire sky lightened up. As dawn approached something ...
MARSH HARBOR, Bahamas takinbetz... be on the right. We retraced our steps. On our way back up East Bay Street we heard sirens and turned around - a police car was careening down the center of the two lanes on East Bay weaving as though his suspension was out (I jumped back to the grass from the sidewalk) and behind him was a school bus with a siren and lights flashing following the police car - that was their police van! The traffic parted to let ...
Nassau, Bahamas takinbetz... and wind! As we changed our heading for Warderick Wells we were among about six other sailboats heading in the same direction on the Bank. Had our main sail up and were sailing a broad reach at about 6.5-7 kts (running engine at low RPMs). Everyone was heading for Warderick from the Bank and several more coming in the Sound - it looked like rush hour! We were given the same mooring as we had going down! We're not sure how long we're going to ...
WADERICK WELLS CAY, Bahamas takinbetzN24 23.674 W76 37.945 APRIL 10TH - Today is Dave's birthday and he was given the Exumas as a present!!! Not too shabby! We left Shroud Cay around 8:00 AM to make way to Warderick Cay which is the Exuma Cay Land and Sea Park headquarters. On our way down we passed Wax Cay, Little Wax Cay, Little Pigeon Cay (privately owned), Hawksbill Cay, Little Hawksbill Cay, Little Cistern Cay ...
WARDERICK Wells CAY, Bahamas takinbetz... my left foot was on it's tip toes. It was exhilarating flying across the water under sail. This trip was not eventful in a bad way at all. We are wet, we are "a-salted", and we are tired and happy. Coming into Nassau is an easy approach because Atlantis is the first thing you see from out in the ocean. We could see the cruise ships all lined up as we approached the harbor. Before you enter the ...
Nassau, Bahamas takinbetz... the beautiful water. Now, 1,200 plus miles into the Atlantic, we are spending our days reading on deck, enjoying our veranda, and I have even taken a flower arranging class and gone to a lecture on pirates. We have also had more than one amazing meal. I remain determined to finish at least one crossword puzzle and will use the next 1,900 nautical miles until Funchal, Madeira to do so.
Half Moon Cay, Out Islands, Bahamas thetravellog... for me to get the desire to go to the gym and run so to ask that I take an hour out of my day just to sign up to spend another half an hour in the gym a day before I want to work out is kind of a lot to ask. I thought the actual workout was supposed to be the hard part...not fighting other people for machines! After our meeting about food in Spain I just chilled in the room with my roommate Rachel. We had a lot of good talks ...

Nassau, Bahamas bakasyonista... and relaxing. It was too hot to have the session on one of the beachside platforms so we did it in the studio. Another vegetarian meal. I'll be eating lots of salads and beans, I'm sure! Decided I was too tired to do the evening meditation and slept, slept, slept.
Nassau, Bahamas mayg... re all being sarcastic. Throwing colonialism back into our faces just because we're white. Maybe they are justified. After all we paid them for this ********. These places are depressing. No wonder some people can't manage to crack a smile. Are most people completely oblivious? or are they pleasantly ignorant? I'm not going o say it's not ...
