    Last day in Venice

... found a place for dinner where I finally got my gnocchi fix that I desperately needed, (not Nonna standard, but not bad) and we all ate well. We then made it back to the water buses and rode back to Venice, only to get lost on the way to our hotel, and waste about thirty minutes going in circles. Eventually we found our way, washed up and went to bed. Ciao Venezia, we will miss your unmistakable character and your annoying street layout, and hope to be back soon! Next stop: San ...

... a busy day; we had one day to take in Venice and we wanted to pack a lot in. Anticipating long lines for San Marco Basilica, we pre-booked "skip the line" passes so we could walk right in, which was a good investment for $2 per person. We spent more time at the church than we had anticipated. The kids were interested in the story of how the Venetians exhumed the body of Saint Mark (author of the bible's Book of Mark) from Egypt and they hid his ...

At one point we could see fish swimming around the hull of a small boat. The water is ...

... We were literally 10min away from the hostel but still legally had to stop. It was so annoying because we were already running behind time and we still had a 2 hour walking tour in Vienna! We finally arrived at the hotel and quickly dumped our bags to go to dinner, an included meal. If it wasn't an included meal we woulda skipped it to go see the sights before it got dark. But can't complain about a free meal. We ate in a traditional Austrian ...

... carnival masks. We got lost again and walked and walked till our legs were aching. It was getting quite hot and there is an unbelievable number of people. We found our way back to the hotel and air conditioning at last. I think a day in Venice is enough. Italian coffee is fabulous. Much better than anywhere else. I wonder why theirs is so good? We just saw the chandelier in our room for 1900 ...
