... at the famous Haute Cabriere and La Motte wineries. The La Motte like sitting around at the Hyatt (newly completed buildings) where the waiters come to you with the next selections and explanations for each wine sampled. Could get used to this, but needed to have a bit of a kip late in the arvo before another night at the famous Monneaux to sample other parts of the menu. Between the three of us we tried most of the menu and the Springbock was so tender it melted in your mouth.

Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa sunshinehippyLlandudno - Stadtmission - Bontebok Park Something needs to be said about German and Swiss time management...it tends to be pretty damn perfect.... Countless people have asked us why we chose the 19th of April to embark on our adventure up North. I am sure that as a response most of them expected a deep and meaningful reason...long hours of mediation, fervent prayer and wide consultation must have led us to choose this particular Sunday to ...
Durban, South Africa manic-tripWe didn't do much here. I I guess there is a fair amount to do here, but we just ended up passing through. We went to the beach one day and walked around Florida street at night. Florida is a street full of bars and restaurants. We are some good Indian food, which Durban is known for. We stayed ...
Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa kytravels... to several towns a little over an hour outside Durban. We went to Pietermaritzburg first. We then drove to Howick to see Howick Falls and have lunch. Next we drove to Thami's aunt and uncle's house in Hilton. His aunt and cousin went to mass while his uncle took us to the World's View, where we could see for miles and miles. Afterwards, the three of us had dinner and visited for several hours. Thami's cousin, Nojabulo ...
Durban, South Africa rroesch... instance of abuse or neglect was witnessed by someone else. In the case of children under 5 yrs. old, they can use medical evidence (DNA) to arrest the perpetrator, but the DNA must be sent to Pretoria for testing, which obviously takes time. In the meantime, the perpetrator is running free on the streets and often escapes arrest. Here are some photos of the youth and parent workers and caregivers in the transition home.

Kleinmond, South Africa m_in_t_travelsUp fairly early and fed fish. I put Bonnie out for the day (it was a lovely sunny day so did not need to leave the bedroom door open for her) Mike picked me up about 9:15 and we set off for the Winelands tour. It was an absolutely lovely day to do that. Sunny, warm, no breeze or clouds anywhere about. This full day tour of the Cape Wine lands took in a number of wineries, which the South Africans call either wine estates or wine farms ...

Cape Town, South Africa audreyandjack... people watched and listened to the music when I noticed something strange. There were groups of school kids walking by in their uniforms (yea, they have to wear them here) and they were all either white or black. Even tho they go to the same school, it seems there is no mixing. I wondered if it was just me but the more I watched the more I noticed that colors kinda stick to their own here. I am not used to this at all. Stellenbosch is a university town which seems pretty ...
