After we got our photo we left before the crowds did so we could visit the next temple alone.  Banteay Kdei was quite a big, flat temple which was unrestored and had lots of bricks piled up on the floor. With the sun just coming through the surrounding jungle trees, the temple looked very atmospheric. Ta Prohm is the temple where tomb raider was filmed. ... he spoke English, his role in the group became very helpful. During the war, he was shot twice in the arm, which he happily showed off his wounds, and played up on his role in getting rid of foreign occupation. As we traveled the grounds, he would make sound effects for us to know what both sides of the conflict were up against, or act out events as they would happen. Dennoch spulte Chaya sein umfangreiches Wissen über die Tempelanlagen unbehelligt ab.

Gegen 16:00 Uhr ging es dann (endlich) zurück ins Hotel, wo wir uns auf den Zimmern und am Pool ein wenig erholen konnten… bevor es dann am Abend weiter ging.

Schon in Deutschland hatten wir uns für eine Khmer-Tanzshow mit Abendbuffet entschieden. Kostenfaktor: 8$
