Arriving In The Biggest City Of South America.
Sao Paulo is HUGE. 19 million people call it home, but not us. We are here only because (a) this is the only place Emirates fly to in South America, and (b) after an eleven hour flight Perth to Dubai, a five hour stopover and then a fifteen hour flight, Dubai to Sao Paulo we badly needed a bed!

Samba
... huge hall with deafeningly load music. The band and locals paraded around dragging us in to dance with them. It was a true Brazilian samba experience an nothing we could of found on our own. Next we went to a samba club with a band. We spent the rest of the night dancing. It was the best night out we have had since travelling.
The next day we headed into the city for more sight seeing. We took a flight that evening to Fortaleza.

Sao Paulo is closed on a Monday!
So our bus pulled into Sao Paulo bus station - we had no idea which one, I was told in an email by the guy from the hostel that we would be at one of two bus stations and I had metro directions for both. We managed to navigate ourselves through the crowds of people - Sao Paulo is a VERY busy place, it is the third largest city in the world with a population of 19 millions! Work, Run, Caipirinha
... in between work and happy hour to do the whole thing. Well, thank goodness our neighbor was thoughtful enough to blast his music at 5:15 a.m. so that I was wide awake and ready to work out at 5:30...that made my decision easy. I do miss running outside but yesterday it was especially cool to watch the city get light from the gym on the top floor.
We're going to the beach for the day tomorrow so I think I'm going to pack up and get ready! More after the weekend :) ...
