Today, we passed the long awaited Fountain of Wine, a free-flowing tap of local red wine. Of course, we reached it at 7am -- but, we convinced ourselves it was 5:00 somewhere and took a taste! The feet looked and felt better after a great nights sleep. My hope was that I would put my hiking shoes on... Put them on and had to take them off... Not today... Socks and sandals. It's like warming up a motor ... It takes a while before the circulation gets going. There is a wide variety of options for lodging on the Camino. At the high end, there are some very nice hotels. These are most often found in the larger towns and cities but occasionally they are found in surprisingly small places. Well it was a big one. And it didn't rain, but it was very hot and little shade along the way. Lovely towns along todays walk and in Torres del Rio there is a 12th century church Iglesia de Santo Sepulcro which is linked with the Knights Templar (as in Eunate) and once again based on the octagonal church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. A good night's sleep despite the 30 people in our dormitory, the vast majority of whom put my snoring to shame. Some people get going before 6am so are rustling around in the dark. For pilgrims they think of themselves first. Our little section of 4 was the slowest to get going although we still managed to to be away by 8am.
