Something pretty special happened last night. If you've seen The Way, you'll know that lots of people bring along a stone which has a special meaning to them, and they leave it at the Cruz de Ferro later on the Camino. Well I forgot, but as I went to bed last night I had a thought. At the bottom of my rucksack is a pair of light trainers with …

Maybe my body is becoming accustomed to walking 20 km a day, maybe it was the cooler temperature today or maybe it was the free wine from the fountain at the Bodegas Irache - but today's walk seemed to be getting easier.

Stew and I arrived around 4:00. It was an extremely long last 10km. I have a really bad blister under my toe and several very sore ...

... long days I remind myself it's not the destination that counts it's the journey along way... I plugged in the ears and listened to Fleetwood Mac, U2, Florence and The Machine, White Snake and others. The walk from Ventosa was so pretty. We wove our way through crop land and vineyards up a steep hill to the most spectacular view! Absolutely superb with the mountains to our right and valley below. A perfect place to slow down and reflect. ...
