Spent our 25th Wedding anniversary here for 2 nights. From check in to check out was given 5 star treatment. Lovely cake in our room for our anniv & flowers covered our bed. Came back after dinner & beds turned down & flowers arranged in a heart on our bed. So many quiet places to chill & relax. Service was fantastic & happy hour btwn 6-7 1/2 price drinks. Had 2 great dinners at Mom tris kitchen as well.

Would love to stay here every year & hopefully we will return one day.

Undoubtebly the best place we have ever stayed.

... We decided to book another couple of nights at the hotel, as we wanted to do the bike ride, and wanted to go see some elephants too! That was a huge pain in the **** (though not as much as the ring sting) as there are about 1,000,000 different companies offering trips to see elephants. Not all of them are particularly nice to the elephants, so Susie spent ages comparing the on Trip Advisor to find one that hopefully wouldn't treat the elephants badly. That evening we went back to ...

Wednesday we had an early start, and headed out on a speedboat to some of the islands. Phi Phi Island (where The Beach with Leonardo DiCapprio was filmed, as well as one of the James Bond movies), Maya Bay, Monkey ...

Michelle Weber and I know each other from working at campus recreation's varsity cage back in our western days. We haven't seen one another since graduation nearly 5 years ago however today we met up in Phuket Thailand of all places! It was as if nothing had changed! The rain was really coming down today so we just sat in a restaurant talking and catching up for 3 hours. So much so that road had flooded and ...

... go to the pool. We asked the receptionist we call Big Red about what beach to go to. He's not big, but he has bright orange hair. He's only in his early 20's but he is the only Caucasian on staff. He kind of mills around the reception desk all day greeting guests and making sure everything is running ok. He looks very Scottish but has a German/Dutch/South African accent. Anyway, he suggested some beaches north of the resort along the north west coast of ...

I walked a couple of miles from Karon to Kata to see if I would recognise any other places from my last visit? The the only difference I could see at the Dino restaurant is the plants are bigger which adds to the effect. I took a couple of pictures including one off the "tree table" where we ate as a family many years ago.The hillside bungalows we stayed in are still there, again more vegetation. As to the rest of the town , roads are still in the same place just ...
