We took the collectivo bus to Akumal on Friday. The collectivo is a small bus that takes a limited number of people to any destination. The bus sits at the curb and waits to be filled and once it's full it takes off to many destinations. We have never waited longer than five minutes to take off. Same thing goes with the dolphin tour we took. Exploitative? Yes? Are the animals well taken care of? Definitely. Cool to ride on the back of a dolphin? Absolutely.
