... world's Joshua trees grow here. They are not really a tree, but a species of yucca. A majority are pretty scrawny, but there were many fine specimens. However, I think the best feature of this park are all the boulder stacks throughout the area. They create many strange, eerie formations including Skull Rock ( very cool). You not only have the pleasure of seeing them but also the fun of ...

Today we had a 12:36 tee time at the Santa Rosa golf course in Sun City. A little bit cloudy (!). Guy and Celine said it was the first clouds in a long time. Probably 75 degrees, so not too shabby. Anyways, that was a bit much maybe but I was on a roll.
So there's Grandpa and then there's Rita, his wiry little dog who needs attention, love and care at every moment. While Grandpa was at work everyday (doing his boss job), we got to hang out and play cards so to speak. ... until 3:30pm so we had a swim in the resort pool and a relaxed breakfast at IHOP again. We made it in lots of time to see Gaslight Anthem and the Lumineers. I didn't really like Gaslight Anthem but the Lumineers were fantastic and definately a festival highlight for me plus I think all 90,000 came out to see them play which was cool. The sun was still pretty harsh so we found solace in some minimal shade provided by the recycling bins which was not as ...
