Luckily the current storms remain thousands of miles away as friends and family struggle with winter. Cath & I are visiting Southern California.

It's near 80F by this elegant pool in Palm Desert. Half of the people rest on recliners in shade; the other half read, sleep or chat out in the sun.

This is so like life! Some want heat, others cool. ...

Peaceful, perfect weather - 50’s night and low 80’s days.. ...

We woke up at 5:00 and left for YVR in the dark for a 08:40 departure. Nice flight on West Jet with a friendly crew, good coffee and cookie and arrived in Palm Springs around 11:15. Had to stand in line for the rental car at Budget but finally drove off in a Ford Escape....olive green and with Illinois plates. Went for a late breakfast at Sherman's Deli in PS and had ...

... all the adults and Grandpa would always head up the dish crew at the end. We really had it made back then and like most things, I didn't realize how much I appreciated those moments until they were gone. We can try to recreate them and it sure is special when we all get together but it's very seldom that we do. I would find myself those days in Grandpa's lap for photos and a kiss and since then, we've visited them a few times at their house in California but I ...
