Hello my beautiful people,
Long time I know, I wont write much in this entry as I have to upload two more entries. But Ill say this: I went to the Canary Islands for East for a week. It was beautiful, the weather much warmer and was able to swim in the pool and get a ...
... Gran Canaria at sunset we were greeted with a dramatic coast line of cliffs in deep orange with clouds sitting in the peaks. We came into the lovely Puerto Mogan at night and Sunshine Maritime's Mike and Mayla assisted Skipper Paul May put Taboo snugly into her berth. Another successful, safe and healthy trip in preparation for her Atlantic crossing in November. Thank you to the crew of Skipper Paul May, crew Roger, Dapo, Martin and myself (Louise). Good luck Transatlantic Team ...
... dunes because it was right next to the nude beach, so lots of naked men and women roaming around. Then we had some beach time and before we knew it our last full day on Gran Canaria was over! We topped off the week with a club crawl organized by Pacha- a pretty well-known club in Playa del Ingles. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend it, it was a little overpriced and all of the clubs seemed the same!
All in all it was an amazing trip - definitely one of my favourites!
... 14oz ribeye and it was superb. Everyone else was happy too. The best meal of the week without doubt!!!
On the final day we had (another) lazy and relaxing day around the pool until 5pm when the taxi collected us and took us to the Las Palmas Airport.
This time the nice man from Easy Jet gave us priority boarding due to our party having two children. So we were able to board the plane early and we were all sat together. ...
... get out of tourist ville that seems to be most of the south end of the island.
Needless to say, our rental car costs were somewhat less then a big rental deal for which we gained a certain appreciation of the charm the island has to offer .... and it was all good.
Highlights for sure as the Jardin du Cactus, Palmitos park and a little town deep in the island call Teror.
Detti is a person who amazes ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Mogan Princess Aparthotel Taurito
we found mogan princess to be a very welcoming clean and comfortable hotel to stay in. The junior suite which we occupied afforded us roomy modern and comfortable accomodation, including two spacious bath/shower rooms and spectacular views across to puerto del mogan harbour. The weather during our stay undoubtedly enhanced our holiday with high 70-80 temps.
Mogan Princess - I found this hotel to be above the norm. I am 28, my partner is the same age and we travelled with our 11 year old son.
Did not live up to expectations
The hotel is set high up in a mountain so if you have any mobility problems forget it this place is not for you. Free buses are provided but you are stuck with their timetable. Hotel very clean and staff are nice but no sun at the pool until after lunch so we had to venture out in search of the sun in the morning.
Had to ask for tea/coffee making faciltites as non orginally provided. Entertainment on the night time was poor different acts every night doing the same kind of show - boring!! For a four star hotel I was not impressed.
We have just returned from a much changed hotel. Many of the apartments have been divided into their separate rooms. Guests returning to the apartments they had enjoyed on previous visits were dismayed to find they had only one room, with no fridge.
I visited the Mogan Princes in April 2005 my first impression was this is perfect.
We have just returned from a week at the Mogan Princess and must say that we are very disappointed with the hotel. Rooms were large and clean but you spend little time in your room. The pool area was nice but not nearly big enough for this large hotel and nothing done to stop people leaving towels on sunbeds before going for breakfast. The food was OK but very repetitive and not always hot enough. The childrens disco from 8.30 until 10 was just someone playing records, no DJ and no games etc as we have had in other hotels. After this there is 30 mins to an hour of entertainment sometimes good sometimes very poor. The bar service is almost non existent with 2 behind the bar and one offering table servics the usual wait for a drink was about 20 mins. This hotel is not a 4 star more like a 3 star. The best thing about the Mogan Princess is the very hard working staff. We won't be back.
This hotel is 1 of the best hotel i have ever stayed in, its very clean and its staff are very Helpfull.
The view is wonderfull, as are the rooms
there is just about nothing bad to say about it (well apart from the entertainment but nobody goes on holiday to watch the entertainment do they)
If you are looking for a great hotel where you can go and relax and forget your worries then trust me this is what you are looking for
I will definatly be going back
We booked a late availability (less than 2 weeks) to the Mogan Princess over Easter 2005, having checked it out with Trip Advisor.
Don't confuse with other Princess Hotels in area. This is a lovely new hotel with self catering facilities in the rooms. Facilites are great, the staff excellent and food good (albeit buffet style only). It really is lovely and most rooms have superb sea views. The reason they have the views is that the hotel is about 500' above the new and pretty little resort of Taurito. The only problem is the location. Although I like a walk, I just couldn't face the climb back up to the hotel and although there are curtesy busses they run very infrequently. So we drove down the hill and back again in our hire car which sounds a bit lazy until you see the hill in question. Next problem, here is a very large new hotel with hundreds of rooms but only 27 parking spaces!! My verdict: if you just want to flop out by the lovely pools or go on the Tour Reps excursions (none of the others pick up from this remote location) you will have a great time. There is live evening entertainment but it was so loud and bad I avoided it. If you prefer to get about under your own steam you might do better to be based nearer Puerto Rico (but not in the valley where the discos will keep you awake most of the night)
Have just returned from a week at the Mogan Princess hotel in Gran Canaria. The hotel lived up to its recommendations. Room was excellent. Lounge area, large bedroom with two queen ann size beds, two bathrooms, two balconies! views excellent. food fabulous, defy anyone not to find something they would like. location not brilliant and the resort of Taurito dissapointing. I would rate this a 5 star hotel if it had sporting facilities and the entertainment needed reviewing. Apart from the lack of facilities for keeping fit and the evening entertainment, i would recommend this hotel. staff were very helpful and friendly. The glass lifts on the outside of the hotel need getting used to if you have a fear of heights! You must visit Puerto Mogan a short taxi ride away, but go during the day or early evening as it seems to close early! The small Irish Bar on the front of the harbour does an excellent fillet steak and king prawns with a brill view whilst consuming!
