... and tea here more compared to Italy. We then strolled to the train station at 10am to wait for our tour guide to head up to Mt. Pilatus. Inside the train station there were more little Christmas markets, which we had a look around. One of the stores were selling donuts that had 5 different fillings - vanilla, apricot, raspberry/strawberry jam, chocolate and baileys cream. The baileys donuts were mouth watering. ... River & is fairly close to the German border. I was tempted to travel for another hour to Rheinfall (Rhine Falls) the largest waterfall in Europe, but I simply did not have enough time if I was going to meet Ian at 5:30pm outside the stadium in Zurich.

Stein am Rhein is a beautiful medieval town on the Rhine as the following photographs will testify.

... and braved the suspension bridge which hung from the side of the mountain. Although we were high above the snow line it wasn't particularly cold. We were comfortable in t-shirts. The time went quickly and we caught the gondolas back to the bottom of the mountain where our coach was waiting. I was amazed to learn that Swiss cows really do wear bells so they don't get lost on the mountains. The farmers even know their individual beasts by the different tones of their bells. A great ...

From St Gallen I moved to Lenzberg, about 30km from Zurich. This time I stayed with Nina and her family. Another really nice family who treated me so well.
Before I left St Gallen I caught up with another Swiss girl ( Marina) and her family for lunch. Very nice. Then a train to Lenzberg where Nina's mum met me at the station. Nina was on a field trip and was away till Sat morning. But it all went like clockwork.
