... the Germans. They down played this of course but history is history and it did advance their technology quite a bit. They also had an exhibition of all the famous cars from movies or used by stars including The Pope Mobile, The Jurassic Park cars and Ringos car! We did a simulation of being in a racing car which was pretty fun! I could never drive that fast!
We stayed at a ...
... get off early to wait by a cemetery until the bus comes back, and the driver can chuckle at us. The bus goes right up the hill, good to know. We got off the bus and started walking, looking for signs. We finally turned around and saw the tomb right behind us. The bus drops off right at the base of the tomb, also good to know. Anyway, it's a nice walk to the top and a welcome breeze when you get there. And the view was totally worth it.
We attended a big birthday party this weekend in Stuttgart. It was my boyfriend's grandfather's (Opa, as I now know him) 80th birthday. We celebrated with the entire family in a nice little restaurant in a small town near Stuttgart. I have no idea the name of either of those places.
We had some free time to explore Stuttgart on Saturday morning so we went to the Wilhelma Zoological and Botanical Gardens. It is a massive ...
... people believe he may only live a day or two more so I will be leaving the group to fly home to Pennsylvania Monday soon after we arrive in Paris. They will be under the superb supervision of Cheryl Kempley, Lynn Harris and the parent chaperones.
I will see if there is another adult who has a computer who might continue the blog. If not, we will share pics when I get hom.
... and all kinds of crazy structures for kids to climb on, jump off of and hang from. We ended up walking all the way back to the car, back at the Wilhelma zoo, and then headed back to Wernau to get cleaned up for dinner at a local italian restaurant. Good food was to be had by all, including a delicious shot of Ramazzotti to help the food digest just that little bit better.
Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg, Germany msprague... isn't as great unless you go to see it for yourself. Now, I'm really hungry! Walking around instead of taking a taxi is a great way to save your money expecially if you're traveling on a $3,500 budget and you also get to see some really cool things. That's what really appeals to me about this city, everything is literally in one place. I had a homemade pretzel 2 hours ago that was delicious! But I think for dinner I'm going to treat myself to something even nicer ...
Stuttgart, Germany sabanovic... and it is a very high tech set-up. The displays gave a lot of information about the history and people involved. We are really enjoying being here, and I think we have finally got a grip on the time difference, though my bladder still insists it is not 4:30am every morning. Sigh... I hope to add lots of photos soon. Don#t forget you can leave comments and that this thing has a guest book! God bless, Dave and Heidi.
Stuttgart, Germany robbortw... minutes later we got off at the next stop. Just how far can a train travel in that time you ask? Well it can go at least 5 to 7 kilometers. How do we know you ask??? Well let me tell you! Our heroine was getting quite impatient on the train and when we got off, she wanted to walk back to the previous station. The next train was leaving in maybe 20 minutes..... could we make it??? Well we started walking back and opted to follow the tracks, as we did ...
