... equally obnoxious behaviour. The man told the shop owner that if it hadn't been for them, he would be speaking German. He should be thanking the Americans for saving the Dutch during the war. I was appalled by both, but they both acted out the stereotype that one hopes doesn't really exist. However, a stereotype exists because it is based on a reality. I bought my trinkets and was very polite and understated. The shop keeper, no doubt recognising my accent as not Dutch, ...
