... Buildings mainly fronting onto the main road, side streets an optional extra, with occasional pockets of greater density. Obviously Sunday afternoon was when all motorcyclists with a death wish raced along the road. One near miss was so close the driver of the oncoming car just sat there, catching his breath, before moving on. No shoulder, no pavements, and bends, lots of blind bends.

Mario and Barbara met us at the hotel and took us to the house in Vorno. What a beautiful place. The river running in front of the house reminded me so much of Jonkershoek.
