... us to a great lunch at the local restaurant Le Vieux Puits. A very enjoyable couple of hours.





After this we had to make some distance and we rode to a city called Poitiers where we stayed for the night. Poitiers is a major university town.

During the evening we went for a few beers and actually found an Australian themed bar!

After a terrific thunder storm during the night, we left at 9.45 for the 83 miles to this Aire. It was a very different journey as the scenery was quite flat compared to the previous journeys. Angles sur L'Anglin is indeed a beautiful village. Dominated by it's ruined 12th century castle, the village is a well preserved medieval village with many houses dating back the the 11th century. It's history is even older though, as a cave with wall friezes dating back some 15,000 years was discovered in the early 50's.
