      ... see on our drive to Nanaimo. One such place was called Goldstream State Park. We arrived here about an hour into our drive to find ourselves parked between many huge red cedar trees. They had to be at least at least 80m tall and were so wide at the base. Massive!! Some of them were over 150 years old. Parking underneath them and even walking through them we were in awe.       ... Company each time we went into town & Benny was itching to try them out, so we stopped in there on our way home. When we first pulled up we weren't even sure we were in the right place - it just looks like your usual industrial storage shed from the outside.       ... Debbie noticed the ex-Prime minister, Joe Clark standing in the crowd, obviously waiting to meet someone deplaning. I remarked that if this was in any other country, the ex-head of state, would have been surrounded with security and bodyguards, yet here was an previous Prime Minister of Canada standing quietly in a crowd, obviously feeling safe and secure. I acknowledged him and he said hello. I love Canada.
