So these are a few of my favourite things... I was so excited for Austria, because I knew we would get to do the Sound of Music tour in Salzburg, where they filmed the musical back in 1964. But first, we went to Vienna. We were only in Vienna for one night, so we headed out for dinner and had these amazing schnitzels, maybe the best schnitzels out there. ... to be a 4 hour long tour of the Alps that ended up being 30 minutes spent looking at a lake. The sad part was we found out the world's largest ice cave was there that we could have gone into had we known. Oh well, it is something to go back and see again! We still had fun! We are now in our hotel packing and going to bed early to leave here at 7 am to head to Germany! I hope it isn't too crazy there with Germany being in the World Cup ...

The best part of the night was a concert we went to in the castle tonight where 3 violinists and a cellist played Mozart and other famous composers. A pianist played one beautiful piece with the group as well. We had second row seats that were perfect! The concert was held in a beautiful room in the palace from the 1400's. ... Hubby and the elderly German husband played with our satellite dish in sign language! The upshot of their “conversation”, after much waving, pointing and testing of wires was that it was sadly too small to get anything from the English satellite, and it once again got packed away in its bag, unused.
Tea was a take-away pizza from the camp restaurant, €8.80 worth of a very tasty vegetable one.
... is heaving with tourists. Our map was getting very soggy, so we wandered back past Mozart's birth place and went looking for a recommended restaurant. It was supposed to be just round the corner. Needless to say we couldn't find it and, after wandering around for quite a while, eventually asked . Most people speak English here. It was just where it was supposed to be but the old town is full of quaint ...
