Heute sind wir nach _Aoshima gefahen. Surferparadis Japans und so. Lauter verfallene Hotels, indenen man super Horror Movies spielen koennte.
Japanische Baywatch Typen gabs aber dennoch am strand. Da ist uns gleich wieder mal was passiert. Besser gesagt mir. Jaja diesmal bin ich schuld. Wir haben unsere Wertsachen abgegeben, da kann man sich so einen Korb kaufen auf den dann ein Maedchen aufpasst. Die konnte leider nur japanisch. Im gegenzug ...
... of new friends by the time I left at closing time on Sunday morning as the sun came up. If you are passing through Miyazaki, be sure to pop in for passing through Miyazaki, be sure to pop in for a beer and a meal and a chat with Sean and the local people who frequent this great little taste of home away from home. Here is a link to their homepage too just to check out if you`re interested. www.thebarmiyazaki.com
Miyazaki, Kyushu-Okinawa, Japan wideboythin... most spectacular setting on the top of a mountain. Could see the distant volcano (which was thankfully quiet). Even had deer come visit while we were in the outside onsen. Made a successful (thanks to the GPS) trip to our hotel in Miyazaki. Got on the JR train yesterday and toured south to Obi City where they have a city of old wooden houses and a Samari castle. Interesting. Today we head north. Just a quick entry for now.
Miyazaki, Kyushu-Okinawa, Japan marybc... it does feel to be back. I though there might be an overwhelming wave of emotion on being back in Boulder or going back to my parents house in Madison for Thanksgiving. But actually, it feels quite nice to be back in familiar places with familiar customs. Unlike our whole trip, I know where the grocery store is and I'm pretty sure I'm not offending anyone by wearing shoes in my parents church. It's good to be home ...
Miyazaki, Japan spudbraham... into the 1.5 of daylight a guy pulls up in his extra large van (quite unusual for this part of the world, they all drive tiny cars and trucks) and asks if we could use a lift. Yes, please! After loading our junk in the back of his van, he explains that earlier he saw us grinding up yet another hill and though, "Gee, they are quite far from any hotels and I hope they aren't planing on camping in this rain." so ...
Miyazaki, Japan spudbraham... looked like any old horses to me, but again, I'm not a connoisseur, and these didn't have price tags), and then head north again. And then it was time for our very last night camping. The site we aimed for turned out to be a medium sized sports park, and absolutely excellent! Huge playground equipment, and a big picnic area with sinks, running water, picnic tables, and electricity! It says something about our lifestyle that this combination is now considered the "lap of ...
Miyazaki, Japan imapilotMushi Mushi (How the Japanese answer the phone), I`m very open to experiencing new things, but I would LOVE a meal without some sort of fish product. My stomach is rebelling from my new Japanese diet and my appetite is almost completely gone. I`m eating about as much as Meghan or Oliver in a given day. Today was my first vocational ...
Miyazaki, Japan christopheroren... the highest suspension bridge in the world and taken a museum tour. All of this while defiling myself every night trying to keep up with the Japanese tradition of filling your beer, sochu or sake glass before you finish your last. UNREAL. Every bar has a karoke machine that is well used. Tonight, I will perfect the phrase, E Eh Kedo des, which means no-thank you. They don`t take no easily and usually I give in first. More Later.
Miyazaki, Japan christopherorenOk! I made it to Japan, however at the airport I was quite surprised to see 20 rotarians with a HUGE banner welcoming us to Japan. I was not in any shape to meet anyone, but I didn't have a choice. We were quickly shuffled off to our Hotel where the local Rotarians had dinner waiting on us. We met our host families that we will stay with starting Monday Night. However, only a few people could speak English and my host could not. When Japanese people ...
Miyazaki, Japan christopherorenI completed the long flight to Japan. My plan to sleep during the flight worked well. I slept for nearly 8 hours during the flight. I am on the flight to Miyazaki from Nigoya. I am hungry, tired and I have travel grime. I can't wait to get to the hotel and settle in. It's 5:20 pm in Japan and 4:20 am in the Eastern time zone. I've been traveling since 7:30 am yesterday. By the time I arrive in Miyazaki, I will have been traveling for ...
