We woke up super early, 5:30 am (10:30 pm CST). Sara and her dad had picked out pastries from a local bakery for breakfast the night before, and we ran down to the cable car lifts to Mont Blanc to wait in line and eat them! The walk was tough and mostly uphill, and after a while all we could see was white as we lost sight of the Jungfraujoch building. We finally reached the "Mönchsjoch" Hut, after close to 30 minutes of walking through snow, and were glad to be out of the windy weather.

... When I reached the hut there was only maybe 6 other people there. I grabbed a coffee that was not too bad considering this place is so remote all supplies are dropped in by helicopter. There seemed to be a family that lived and ran the restaurant and I think there were some rooms to sleep there. I couldn’t imagine living here it is so isolated, you’d have the best view in the world but still couldn’t do it.
