To get the chronology correct, firstly I will just mention that Isla del Sol on Lake Titicaca, that one gets to via Copacabana in northwest Bolivia is a gorgeous island, with stunning scenery and crystal clear waters, that makes for a more than pleasant day trip from Copacabana. Having said that, it could do with some signposts, but such is Bolivia …

Minus 9 degrees!!

There isn't much to write about today except for it's our last day in Bolivia. Oh, and the temperature when we left Uyuni in the morning was -9degreesC, a bit too chilly for this Kiwi girl!! Our drive from Uyuni took us back to Potosi before heading south towards the border town of Tupiza. It was a pretty drive, the mountains in this part are …

Our journey to get to Tupiza turned out to be a long one. We got a bus from Cochabamba to Santa Cruz, as the only direct bus of the day to Tupiza from Cochabamba had already left around 2pm, and we'd missed that. So we got the same bus as the girl from the hostel. It left at 8pm, and she said it got in around 9am, so that should be fine to get a …

We arrived in Tupiza after another quick 5 hour journey. We ended up getting on the same bus as Pete and Charlotte although they were sat at the front and we had the whole back seat to ourselves. We arrived in Tupiza and went off with Pete and Charlotte to find a hostel. Tupiza is a really small town so it was easy to walk around and find the …

I hadn't really known what to expect from Bolivia but the journey from the border gave us a pretty good idea. It definitely wasn't Argentina. We'd gone back in time a bit certainly, but it was all new so we were looking forward to having a dig around Tupiza.

We'd book to stay in a hotel - our first one - because it was dirt cheap. Way …

The pool here is the biggest draw, it's great. Rooms are basic but fine. Breakfast is terrible unless you are there at the beginning of service. Staff very rude and unwilling to replenish buffet even when asked. Not bad though considering the price!

I loved staying here. It is a hotel with a hostel feel. I was worried about not meeting people, but everyone hungout in the common area. It was a bit cold for the pool when I was there, but it was nice and clean. The breakfast was great. The rooms were clean and there was hot water.

We stayed at the newer Hotel Mitru and have been very comfortable, we got a private double room with TV. There is a really nice pool area, breaky is decent and the staff very nice and helpful.

We were due to stay in the room especial however were given the standard room. It was clean and pleasant without any bad smells and quite a bargain!!!

Breakfast was disappointing however..... food was eaten by the early birds and not replenished.... We are told it was reasonable...
