... easier to sleep. It could actually work if the Vietnamese girl next to us wouldn't chatter continuously...

One of my students (her name is Sky) invited me to visit her house this weekend, so I cancelled my beach trip and went with her instead. I was kind of imagining it would be a girls' weekend with beaches and massages and pedicures, but I was completely wrong. ... to rain all morning. After breakfast it wasn't too bad so I sat on the top deck under the awning to enjoy the last bit of stunning scenery as we made our way back I to the harbour. We had an early lunch on board (11:00 - we'd only finished breakfast two and a half hours earlier!) an then back on land and headed back into Hanoi. We definitely hit the jackpot with the weather these two days. We had a bit of rain which cooled things down but the sun was always out when ...

... and take the lead anyways towards a cave at the base of an island we can kayak into. We climb out and walk into the cave. There isn't much to see until you turn around and look at the view. "Damnit", I say, "this is the picture I always see when I Google Halong Bay". "Really"? Cody says back, "it's a good thing we have our cameras then". We both left everything on the boat. Grr. Missed photo opportunites are the things that haunt my dreams on every vacation. We ...
