Ahh! A tourists dream - Ha Long Bay!
It was exactly that though.. Incredibly touristy, as I knew it would be.
Though I knew I needed to lower my expectations on this one.. As I had such high hope for it, I knew I would disappoint myself.
It was defiantly beautiful.. Though tourism is ruining it, as it does so many things. The water seemed to be soiled and full of hundreds of tourism boats.
We start with a three hour bus journey ...

Tai Chi was on offer at 6.30am on the sun deck and I had had a vague notion I might try this as I climbed into bed last night. Workers eventually revolted against horrid conditions. We had a road side stop where we had fresh pineapple with a twist. Customers here is to dip it in to a mixture of salt and chilies - unique to me. A girl on a scooter yelled 'I love you' as she drove by. Can't imagine why ...

... Cave”, one of the most beautiful caves in the Bay, for a walk around the cavernous enclosure with its illuminated stalagmites and stalactites. One can only assume it earned its name because its discoverers weren't expecting it to be so big inside… Or maybe it's just surprising how many tourists visit it each day! Even with the crowds it was still a beautiful cave to make our way around.

... story) but she was only doing the one night on the boat where I was doing the two nights, one on the boat and another on an island.  Our pickup soon arrived and we sat together and chatted about what had happened on Christmas Eve, much of which I couldn't remember – this made Tammy laugh so much as she remembered everything. Apparently I was singing very drunk to One Direction songs and she had the video to prove it – OMG so embarrassing! I told her that I ...
