    Our last morning in Berlin. We'd have to say that we wish we would have booked more time here. Such a wonderful city, we must do it again.

    ... what kind of tree we had been parked under but the car was covered in an incredibly sticky sap. No doubt made worse from the storm.

    ... that was used in the Oscar winning movie The Grand Budapest Hotel, which was formerly a department store in the day and is now being renovated like so many other old buildings in this city. Spectacular!
    Even though we struck out on genealogy we discovered a most beautiful intact medieval town, undamaged by the war.

    ... saw there was in the Museum in the Ghetto, which was located in one building that was used as a Children’s Homes for orphaned Jewish children. There was a display of drawings done by a number of different children that showed aspects of their lives – sometimes before the war, sometimes in the Ghetto, and some drawings were of the Nazis beating some of the adults.
