      ... atmosphere. After checking into our hotel we walked the streets and investigated this picturesque spot. Dinner was at a gorgeous place called Le Tremail where we tried some escargot (snails) and seafood. To our surprise, the kids loved the snails and asked for more after trying them. Great stuff kids! Of course they finished with some creamy chocolate and vanilla ice ...

      ... AVE high speed train. It goes 300 km an hour and get you there in 90 minutes. It was so fun that we did an AVE-inspired day trip to Cordoba. That was three AVE hours -- but it was a lovely way to see a place we might have otherwise missed. We also had an interesting outing to the closest wine district in Requena, courtesy of our friend (and Henry's art teacher) Jenni.

      ... but it seems most of the coastal towns are the same, I am stumped as to how these businesses survive. There are so many camping places that don't open until April and even into late May.       ... de France. It was a 20 mile ride with 6 continuous miles uphill with a gradient ranging from 7-13%, unfortunately the steepest part was near the top, where we were also surprised to see snow on the side of the road! It was a totally amazing ride with some brilliant hairpin bends and breathtaking scenery all the way. Mandy stood proudly at the top to have the obligatory photo taken before the long and very cold ride back down. As you don’t use much energy on the way ...
