We had breakfast and packed our bags to leave LeHavre this morning. We didn't have to board the bus until 9 am, but we had a lot of driving to do today.
For our first stop, we visited a small museum built around the train car where the armistice for WWI was signed. In 1940, Hitler used the same train car to accept France's surrender. The car which was actually general Foch's office, was ...

These toilets and showers are in addition to those available to us on Chamamé. It is a delightful setting to stay in. Sunday morning and we decided to visit Verdun ...

We struck the colors yesterday - meaning we took down the American flag and the small French courtesy flag. Normally that would be just about the last thing one does before leaving for the winter - presence of a flag is one way of saying the boat is occupied. However we had just had about a 36 hour break in the rain that was about to end and we thought it would make more sense to put the flags away dry than wet.

It has been raining on and ...

... this story I asked Connie if I should tell them that she puts sugar into her Dom Perignon. She didn't think that would be a good idea. We only covered a very small portion of the 28km of caves under the town of Épernay that Moet & Chandon has. Overall, there are over 150km of caves under the local region. The caves, because of the chalk content in the walls of rock, maintain the temperature at 10 degrees Celsius and at a ...
