    ... storage plant and between his English and my French we all did fine. We bought a case and he was kind enough to deliver it so we didn’t have to drag it back on the bikes. When he delivered he took a photo of us on the back of the boat with the French name, the American flag, and a half case of his wine. He is a younger man and he struck me as quite a bit more market savvy than many French!

    ... before we headed off - well that was the plan, until we remembered that we hadn't printed out the tickets for the Equestrian games that we needed, and the others that we were trying to sell as a favour... Ten minutes later and we had the files sent through to the reception, and then after chatting to them, they told us that it might take about half an hour - their computers weren't the best!     ... and emailed me from Canada this morning, this year we decided to take the cellar tour at Mercier Champagne, where they take you through the underground cellar caves in a little electric train, instead of Mot where they make you bloody walk!

    Bought some bubbly in Reims then on to Chalons-en-Champagne. Lovely town with two large churches as usual. The Notre-Dame De L'Epine dated back 1405 the Cathedrale St Etienne dated back 1230.

    ... order it from home! Its a great little winery and they take us through the production cycle. It is all very modern here, but their caves are pretty good! This is an area Mr S and I hope to come back to one day. We have been told that some of the bigger houses have amazing caves that in themselves are worth a visit. Next we take a little drive to a town called Sillery. We have a big concert here with the Brass band de Champagne. The band welcomes us with more ...
