Hello from Odense, Denmark!
It's our last morning in Denmark! Never again will I visit this beautiful country!
Or at least not on this tour!
We had a great show last night (no one fell on stage!) and a great day overall. We started off the morning by giving public speeches. As many of you are aware, a huge aspect of Up With People is self-growth ...
Happy Thanksgiving Day to everyone!
I had a turkey sandwich today... that was the extent of my Thanksgiving Day meal! I was thinking today about how bummed I was to miss out on the stuffing, turkey, mashed potatoes, fresh rolls, pumpkin pie, corn, and of course the chex mix! (a strict Luebke tradition)
But I am in Denmark so I got over it pretty quickly :)
Today I participated in a great regional learning activity. I toured some of Odense, Denmark ...
Hello from Odense, Denmark!
We are only here for about 2 days. We just arrived, have shows on Thursday and Friday, and then leave on Saturday morning for Sweden! Woah! What a whirlwind of travel! 3 countries in one week!
AND I have some great news! My travel blog received an award from TravelPod.com as one of the top ten best travel blogs on the network! Yes! I just got the email today!

... with an extensive and beautiful 16th century altarpiece. Then I saw the place of H.C Andersons childhood. He was very poor and lived in a tiny house shared with five other families. The nice lady allowed me to go in for free because I had run out of Danish Krona. I am meeting Australians everywhere.
... or you won't get back in"...hehe...so it was funny, especially since dad had not driven a standard for a really long time. Although he basically mastered it, it was still funny when the car would stall in the middle of the street here and there. On our way back from teh castle, we were hungry and we had brought a snack with us - a baguette and leftover cake - So we though we woul dhave a snack in the car...but we did ...
Svendborg, Region South Denmark, Denmark lucbergeron86... br>When we returned from our tour, they had other guests (a few neighbours) who arrived to celebrate Ole's birthday. We went outside where we had cheese and bread ...it is traditional for them to put slices of cheese on the bread ---delicious, seriously the best cheese and bread ever! Then they brought out the traditional birthday cake (a Cake Man!) where it is a delicious cake shapped as a person, toped with a brownsuga/egg icing and candies! haha it was awesome ...

The original plan was to drive all the way to Copenhagen and stay on a campsite there. But since it rained and rained and rained, we decided to stop earlier and have a good rest before heading to Copenhagen and meeting up with Laurents & Iris at the airport there. We were lucky and found a really nice campsite right at the beach with a view of the Storebaelt Bridge :-)
... needs the children are able to enroll at six years old and can stay in the community until they pass away – they create a self-sustaining community in which the residents do not need anything from the “regular” world. According to our guide their idea of “inclusion” was making those in the mainstream world feel invited to visit those with special needs within the safety of their communities. Further, at the ...
Odense, Fyn and the Central Islands, Denmark annalise.m... in his stead. He was very polite and hardly ever trying to talk me into booking such a tour myself. I told him I had not planned to set aside that much time in Svendborg and that I had a train to catch back to Odense. Which was a good excuse since it was true. So we just stood there for a while and talked. I found his stories about the relatively recent history of Svendborg so interesting that I hardly gave out an impression of a man who "soon had a train to ...
Svendborg, Denmark the_wayfarer... though it was 40 proof. It also tasted pretty disgusting and sickenly sweet. And one random fact about drinking in Denmark...apparently, like the Vikings, people used to be drunk...a lot. When people used to join the army and become soldiers, they were paid some money but also 10 liters of beer...a day. Maybe this is why Denmark lost so many wars to Sweden, who has some of the strictest laws on the sale of alcohol.
