Wongaling Beach Road Mission Beach, Queensland, Australia, 4852, 61-7-40888288/79024,-1800
We booked ourselves into a hostel down the road at Mission Beach that prides itself on relaxation. It has hammocks all around, a nice pool and is located in the rainforest, it also has no TV. Which is fine, until i realised we'd be there during the Ashes!! D'oh!! Mission Beach is a tiny place with some beautiful beaches, which again are inaccesible because of the stingers. We resolved ourselves to doing a lot of nothing whilst we were here, which may become a bit of a feature of Australia we ...

... long enough to buy some meat and beer for tonights BBQ before retiring to the pool. LJ gave her cousin a quick ring to make sure all is well and we're still ok to crash at theirs for a while and he wouldn't hear of anything else and he's picking us up from the bus station. Think we'll be buying him plenty of beers over the next few weeks to say thank you. Hopefully our next update will be from Cairns.

... a plane at 14,000 ft. Everything went to plan and had a perfect landing back on earth on the beach. I paid for a dvd and pictures so will have them by this evening. I looked at the video on the way back on the bus and it was great.
The jump itself was crazy and the freefall lasted for 60 seconds. It was awesome jumping out of a plane and ...
... on the Ulysses track, an off road undulating trail to the jetty near Bingal Bay. Maegs decides to run part of the track and amazes us with her stamina. She and Max swap use of the bike, Greg’s running and I am usually on my bike.
I was also able to join two Yoga classes at the communal hall within the caravan park, which was an added bonus, but just another tick to add to the growing list of advantages of this town.

It's one of the few places you can still the the endangered cassowary bird in the wild. I ran into a young one while going to the beach early one morning. It was nearly my height and it was only one years old. He wasn't particularly bothered with me, it just sidled on ...

=) yeah it was awesome. The views were unbelievable, the pictures are terribly unflattering due to our faces being vaccumed by the air and the adrenaline rush is like nothing either of us have ever experienced.
=) oh and in the night we partyed in a cafe with the rest of our hostel - it inculuded limbo, dance off, cheesy music ...
... out the Trivial Persuit! It was actually the same edition that we had at uni so I actually knew some of the answers! Than and Aline were at a slight disadvantage as it was the 1983 UK version. The hostel didnt have a TV so it was good that it had lots of (old) boardgames! On the 7th both Anna and the Canadians left. I was to stay another day because I didnt book the bus in time so had to get it the next day. That was very ...
Mission Beach, Queensland, Australia wollifer... with! In Queensland you are not able to even swim in the sea between October and April (basically all summer long). This is due to Marine Stingers/Box Jelly fish which arrive and remain in plague proportions for this entire period. They just so happen to be one of the most dangerous creature’s on Earth. An innocent swim or paddle could result in ones nervous system shutting down, along with loss muscle use and that’s before dying within two minutes of an ...

The Greyhound was filled with a mixture of tourists like myself - old and young. It stops off for about 30 minutes every few hours to allow for refreshments and reshaping of ****. It's got several rules - the most interesting of which I find is that men are not allowed to go topless - I've seen this in several places now - eg on the scuba dive trip - men were required to ...

Again however we were forced back when the vicious mozzies started biting Jayne through her thin top. [We subsequently heard on the news that 600 people in Cairns had caught Dengue Fever from mozzie bites.] No cassowaries were therefore seen although we did come across a large groups of wallabies which took us by surprise on the hillside opposite the supermarket.
