... as well. Guy goes to a lot of trouble to make this meal special, and it's always exciting to see what wonderful new concoction she's produced. She was making little desserts every day, but I got the feeling that this was mainly for my benifit, so I explained that I really didn't need the calories - and she's stopped. She says that we all need to slim down in preparation for all the eating that will take place in December.

She and her husband ...
San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico hilaryford... and another girl from Canada. We walked a couple blocks and ended up at the market I had stopped by for breakfast. Several tables had now been set up at one end and I saw colorful candles, urns with burning incense, colorful paper cuttings with skeletons, and tables and tables of what turned out to be sugar skulls and skeletons and other delectable treats made mainly from refined sugar! I purchased a sugar skull and had them write my name on ...
Queretaro, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast, Mexico biwenyi... to me in Spanish. When I went back, I found that they only had the form in Spanish. I peered over the shoulders of a couple of people next to me and filled in the form the best I could. I then crossed my fingers as I passed the medical security checkpoint.

By the time I went through Customs and arrived at Baggage Claim all the bags from our flight had been removed from the conveyor belt.

Guanajuato, Mexico bogit... symbol of the town. This aqueduct, still in use today, was built between 1726 and 1738 and is 1,280 metres long with a maximum height of 23 metres all held by 74 sandstone arches. The final visit was to see Santa Rosa de Viterbo, a masterpiece of Baroque architecture as a fine example of the Spanish and Mudejar styles, unfortunately again it is closed for restoration and so we could only see the stunning paintwork outside. Then back to the camp for the night.
Queretaro, Mexico mikeandmary... through the streets clad in pointed hoods like the KKK wear, but in many colors (and with a much different purpose). They carried heavy crosses and icons of various Virgins, the streets silent except for the hiss of chains dragging from their ankles. Heaviest parade we`ve ever seen. Within days upon arrival we were settled in with our host family parents, Leticia and Jesus, feeding us fantastic soups, empanadas, pozole, eggs with chipotles, corn ...
Guanajuato, Mexico asci... with Mexicans), Mexican Culture (a class in English), and two intensive Spanish classes. I like all my classes so far, but ask me how I feel halfway through the semester! Well, hopefully you've made it to the end of my short novel here. But, in short (or long), I'm doing well here so far. I've met some people that I feel I have things in common with and of course many of us internationals have bonded as we are all new here. I'm learning my way around the town ...
