Das Mision de San Miguel ist super

Das Hotel Mision de San Miguel bietet ein tolles Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis. Unsere Familie hatte drei unterschiedliche Zimmer (Junior Suite, Superior-Doppelzimmer und Standard-Doppelzimmer) und alle waren ausgezeichnet. Das Hotel ist sehr modern, gut gepflegt und in der Parkgarage ist viel Platz. Das junge Personal war sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich.

Wenn man uns fragen würde, ob wir wieder hierher kommen würden, wäre unsere Anwort, dass wir bei unserem nächsten Aufenthalt in Palma auf jeden Fall wieder hier übernachten werden!

Mision De San Miguel is great

The Hotel Mision De San Miguel offers great value for money. Our family used three different rooms (jubior suite, Double superior, Double standard), all excellent. The hotel is very modern, well kept and the garage offers plenty of space. The young staff was very helpful and fiendly.

If you ask us "would you go here again" the reply is "Definitely, no doubt that our next stay in Palma will be here"!

We didn¨t want to leave

We absolutely loved our stay at the Mision de San Miguel. We booked it direct and got a very reasonable rate including breakfast.

The staff could not have been nicer and so helpful, if you needed anything you only had to ask. Our room was beautiful with a great view of the courtyard, it was well maintained and kept spotlessly clean. The location is fantastic as it is a couple of minutes walk to Island wide and local rail and bus links. The restaurant serves delicious food and the waitresses were really pleasant and helpful. There are loads of shops and cafes nearby but if you want to go looking for a more upmarket restaurant then you have to walk about 10 - 15 minutes. We love to walk after dinner and we felt perfectly safe even at 1am coming home from restaurants. Even the alleyway that you have to walk through to get to the hotel is well lit and my response to the critic who complained about the alleway, yes it in need of refurbishment but it does not belong to the hotel. This is an old city we are talking about, not Disneyland!

I would absolutely recommend this hotel for business people and tourists wanting to explore Palma. The hotel and it's staff enhanced our wonderful week in Mallorca. We were very lucky to find it. And yes it really is as beautiful as the pictures on their web site.

Lovely, Convenient, Modern & Good Value

My wife and I spent 4 days at this lovely, centrally located hotel in early May and paid €380(total) by booking through hotel's website. Rooms were modern, clean lines, free internet access, large power shower, comfortable beds. Free parking on site. Hip bar. Never ate at the restaurant. as so many good eats in Palma such as Wasabi(sushi), Tast(tapas), Forn(continental) and Cappuccinos(bistro).

San Miguel staff were very nice but had very little contact with them as everything worked and went well...Have fun in Palma!

Best in Palma - Modern, friendly and good value

WE stayed one night in this lovely new hotel in cental Palma. The staff couldnt have ben more helpful and friendly and the chef even parked out car in the car park as we couldnt get it round the rather tight entrance.! The smallish hotel ( 43 rooms)is very tastefully fitted out especially int he communal areas and has a lovely courtyard for lunch, Breakfast exceptional. We had a spacious suite with two bedrooms for a very, very reasonable price - would defintely go again . Ignore the reviews abou the views,; you dont get views in central Palma. But its very centally located for everything . Highly recommended and cheap for the quality. Would definitely go back. Is hard to find - get a map and directions from me !!.

Wir haben den Aufenthalt genossen

Per Zufall habe ich im Internet ein sehr interessantes Angebot gefunden mit 4 Tage Übernachtung im Hotel Mission de San Miguel. Die Fotos auf der Website haben mich überzeugt und so haben wir den Aufenthalt gebucht.

Die Fotos auf der Homepage entsprechen voll und ganz der Realität und bei Ankunft ist man angenehm überrascht, dass alles auch wirklich so aussieht. Ein altes Gemäuer zentral in der Altstadt, das sehr aufwendig mit Stil und auch modernen Elementen renoviert wurde. Wir haben uns sofort auch sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Personal ist äusserst hilfsbereit und sehr freundlich.

Das Speiserestaurant ist für meinen Geschmack etwas sehr schlicht und kühl gestaltet, bietet aber angenehmen Sitzkomfort. Die mediterane Küche ist ausgezeichnet, besonders Fischgerichte sind zu empfehlen und die Preise moderat.

Bedingt durch den Bau und Steinböden ist das Hotel recht laut. Besonders wenn man wie wir im Hauptgebäude übernachtet. Die Stimmen und Musik aus der Bar waren deutlich zu hören. Dies konnte man durch schliessen der Brandtüre etwas mindern. Aber auch wenn der Zimmernachbar hustet oder duscht entgeht das einem nicht. Wenn Sie ein sehr ruhiges Hotel suchen, sind sie mit der Mission nicht sonderlich gut beraten.

Aber das haben wir auch nicht gesucht, und von einem Hotel mitten in der Stadt nehme ich auch nicht an, dass es sonderlich ruhig ist. Obwohl mitten drin, hat man eigentlich keine Stadtgeräusche gehört.

Alles in allem haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt in der Mission und würden auch in Zukunft gerne wieder dort wohnen.

Lovely Hotel

Having just spent 4 Nights at Mission de San Miguel,I felt it neccessary to say what a lovely hotel to have a short term break.

Don't be put off by the entrance to hotel,this is a a great place to stay and explore the lovely city of Palma.

All the staff were without exeption friendly and helpful,and the quality of food and bar service were to a very high standard.

The hotel is well situated ,within easy walking distance of all that Palma has to offer.

We will certainly be returning to the San Miguel,and would recommend it without hesitation

Excellent short break

We have just returned from our four day visit to Palma to celebrate a family birthday. What a wonderful time we had at the hotel, Mision De San Miguel. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, everyone was so friendly. We arrived to a complimentary drink whilst our luggage was taken to our rooms. Reception was very efficient and eager to help in any way. The rooms were clean, bright and comfortable, the restauraunt was excellent. The location was very convienient for the town, transport and tourist sites although the hotel was not easy to find! All at the hotel made the 'birthday girl' feel very special.

Schickes Hotel, sehr zentral

Ich hatte das Glück dieses Hotel besonders günstig, im Vergleich zu den Hoteleigenen Preisen, buchen zu können. Nicht zuletzt deshalb bin ich vielleicht so begeistert von dem Hotel. Wann bekommt man schonmal ein vier Sterne Haus zum Preis eines zwei Sterne Hostals.

Das Hotel selbst ist erst 2006 eröffnet worden und komplett neu gebaut worden. Die Architektur gefällt mir sehr gut, jedoch ist dies sicherlich auch Geschmackssache. Die Zimmer sind minimalistisch, jedoch schön und funktionell eingerichtet. Ich habe nichts vermisst. Außerdem gab es einen kostenlosen High speed Internet Anschluss. Sogar die dafür benötigten Kabel wurden vom Hotel kostenfrei zur Verfügung gestellt.

Wie in anderen Kritiken anklingt, gab es im Zimmer selber tatsächlich keine Informationen zu einzelnen Einrichtungen oder Preisen der Minibar. Jedoch bin ich der Meinung das man als Tourist normalerweise schon in der Lage sein sollte einen normalen Sony Fernseher zu bedienen, oder einen Fön in Gang zu setzen.

Das BAdezimmer war einfach nur wunderbar. Alles da was man braucht, nur Shampo habe ich vermisst. Ansonsten alle üblichen Service Kits die man in einem Hotel dieser Kategorie - auch in Spanien - erwarten kann. Besonders die Dusche ist zu erwähnen da diese ausnehmend geräumig ist und über eine Art Regenwalddusche verfügt. Ganz viel Wasser aus einer Brause fest an der Decke montiert. Meiner Erafhrung nach eher selten zu finden.

Die Minibarpreise waren absolut human und auf Nachfrage an der Rezeption auch sofort zu bekommen.

Überhaupt war das Personal stets freundlich und bemüht und man konnte sich mit allen Fragen an sie wenden. Englisch und spanisch wurde immer gesprochen, deutsch nur wenn der entsprechende Rezeptionsmitarbeiter anwesend war. DA ich jedoch des spanischen mächtig bin, absolut kein Problem.

Der frühstücksraum ist sehr Bauhaus-mäßig eingerichtet. Mag sein das dies einigen Menschen zu kühl erscheint, somal sich der Raum im Suterrain befindet und somit keine Fenster hat. Mir jedoch kam dies sehr entgegen, ich mag diese Art der Einrichtung.

Die Lage des Hotels ist absolut zentral nur etwa eine Minute von der Placa d'Espanya entfernt. Von hier aus verkehren auch sämtliche Busse, sowohl die Stadtbusse, aber auch die Überlandbusse in die anderen Städte von Mallorca.

Vom Flughafen aus sind es etwa nur 15 Minuten Fahrt mit der Linie 1 (Kosten 1,85 pro Person) bis zum Hotel. Allemal günstiger als ein Taxi und ausserdem noch genauso schnell.

Innerhalb von Palma ist von dem Hotel aus alles sehr gut zu fuss zu erreichen. Der Mercat d'Olivar ist nur einen Steinwurf entfernt. Auch die Placa Major ist nicht weit, ebonsowenig wie die diversen Einkaufsstraßen von Mallorca.

Zur Kathedrale sind es etwa 15 minuten Fußweg. Jedoch hat man immer auch die Möglichkeit den Bus zu nehmen.

Zusammenfassend kann ich dieses Hotel nur empfehlen, und würde jederzeit wieder hier übernachten. Es war ein äußerst angenehmer Aufenthalt, ohne Kompromisse.

Very disappointing

This is a new hotel which we found to be very disappointing. We stayed over the Christmas period. On the positive side the hotel courtyard and bars and common parts look fantastic indeed but for us this was where it stopped. Reasons NOT to stay here again would be:

1) While the hotel is indeed situated in Palma Old Town and close to all the shops there are extremely few decent restaurants and bars close to it. In fact there are very few restaurants in the immediate vicinity and anything decent was about a twenty minute walk away.

2) The Hotel's descriptions of all rooms facing the Old Town are in themselves not untrue. However this is misleading as our room simply faced a blank wall covered in pigeon ---- and a terrace facing the courtyard (OK fair enough a decent view but not facing the Old Town). This was one of the best rooms being a suite and from the outside none of the other rooms would appear to have half decent views. From the website people could be led to expect views of the streets and the Cathedral/Castle etc. In fact the hotel is down two grim smelly alleys at the top end of the Old Town.

3) We booked a junior suite. The room style was minimalist which generally we like. However, the seating area was a blank depressing room facing a blank wall with little feeling of luxury or comfort.

4) There was little atmosphere in the hotel or bar (OK it was a quiet time being Christmas). Staff were nice enough but service inconsistent and downright rubbish one day in the breakfast room.

5) The hotel's approach to information is also minimalist! No information in our room about how things work - phone, TV, mininbar prices let alone any general City tourist information.

6) There are nicer hotels in the City with better locations at cheaper prices than this.

7) Noise seemed to be audible virtually all the time in the hotel. People walking up and down, scraping furniture, and let's not forget, the noise of water streaming through pipes very loudlly every time someone from another room flushes the loo!

It was a real shame. Clearly an intensive amount of thought seems to have gone into the design of the courtyard and bar area and the right intentions are probably there if you can find them. There was also some thoughtfulness on Christmas Day when staff left a Christmas stocking for us. It's just a pity that the hotel falls down on a number of key areas - structure, design, atmosphere, location being some of the key letdowns for us. All in all pretty poor value for money - we paid around £600 for six nights.
