It was an outstanding stay in this hotel, it's right in the center of Misawa.
Great facility and service, tasty food and lots of fresh fruits and vegetables.
Lots of festivities, like Cherry Blossom festival.

Below are a few video clips that will give you a feel for the parade. The band sounds really good. ...and, what would a parade in Japan be without DRUMS?!

(Note: The background sound in the motorcycle video is the sound from the pedestrian crosswalk. You just have to love the Japanese)

... paddling today, but also was able to see where we paddles last year.

As you can see, the lake is beautiful! And while it was a bit windy at the overlook, the water was very calm. Lake Towada is a volcanic crater lake created thousands of years ago and still fed by some thermal springs, but mostly filled by all the snow that falls in this area ...

... it on the map on my iPhone, so I tried out the "Directions to" function and I got there without a hitch. After I was done looking through the crazy collection of just about anything you could think of, I thought I'd give the old iPhone another work-out and see if it could get me home.

... was REALLY whipping ...but I kept going! As you can see, I was properly attired ... no exposed skin! Luckily, the wind was at my back going up. Coming down it was a bit brisk as it found a few spots to sneak in around the goggles.
