... met back up with our driver and she drove us into the small town close by where her carpet shop was. We walked in her shop and was greeted by a Turkish guy with an Aussie accent. He grew up in Australia and moved back to Turkey with his wife and children. He was a really friendly guy and was good to speak to someone that could understand our accents. Being an Islamic country, mosques are everywhere. We could see three outside our Istanbul hotel window. We visited two of the biggest. ... us party animals that are not so young anymore. Had a ball, drunk heaps of Turkish beer, which tastes like any beer really, and danced my **** off! Can now cross podium dancing off my list of things I've never done!! Me and one of the guys on my tour, David, got the ball rolling with dancing on the stage - once we got up there others followed, and then only natural we progress to the podium. I think we sure showed those Turks how to party!
